Was the main curriculum for seasons 21 and 22 (and possibly afew seasons later) protecting the environment? Looking at Muppet Wiki, it seems like a lot of episodes from this season have some sort of focus on the environment. There's one episode where Telly tries to guess who will get the Good Citizen Award, and many of the people who he guesses are guessed because of tem helping the environment, and at the end of the epsidoe the winner is Oscar, who wins because he keeps finding new ways to reuse trash.

Then there is one episode that has a segment referred to as the "environmentally concious portion of the program". This scene features Oscar and Telly, where Oscar wants to make a new "Get lost" sign, but Telly convinces Oscar to write on the back of his old sign, saving cardboard and trees. Telly also points out that Oscar left his radio on, and compliments Oscar when he turns it off. The sketch ends wth Oscar hearing water dripping and deciding to turn the faucet off before Telly points it out.

And it seems like a lot of environmental sketches were made around this time. Like the cartoon where a boy brushes his teeth and leaves the sink on, and The Wasteroon Song, and Don't Waste Water, and The King Who Wasted Paper, and so on. In 1990 there was an album release caled We Are All Earthlings, focusing on environmental songs, and in 1993 there was a video called Sing-Along Earth Songs.

I recall seeing an epsiode from around the time that Mr. Handford was introduced, where Mr. Handford is unable to serve Telly a glass of water, I think because the pipes are broken, but I recall this epsidoe having some environmental messages about not wasting water. I remember at one point the cartoon where a boy brushes his teeth and leaves the sink on is shown, and I recall it actually being shown on Mr. Handford's TV.

I also remember an epsidoe around this time where Oscar holds a trash sale. I can't remember if it had much support for recycling, but I remember that at one point Luis bought a toy wheel from Oscar because he needed to fix a toy car, and one wheel was missing.

I really forget those seasons. is that about the time "We are all Earthlings" came about? Because I'm sure they were focusing on the environment at that point. And I wouldn't be surprised if it's the theme of the upcoming season.

I think that We Are All Earthlings is from 1990 (are you referring to the song or album?). Of course, there have ben a variety of environmental segments before and since then, but these seasons seemed to heavily focus on the environment. I wouldn't be surprised if Bruno's song "Put it in the Trash Can" was from one of these seasons (I recall seeing it around one of those seasons, and only remember seeing it once. And that song seems really rare... I don't think any of us have any copies of that song in english). Considering that those seasons seemed to be about the environment, it seems ironic that Bruno was fazed out around that time. Surely a garbage man would be a good character for an environmental season. There were environmental segmnets in the early seasons, including The Garden Song, the Willie Wimple segmnets, Garbage Man Blues Song, and the sketch where a voice-over asks various humans if they made the mess on the street.
