even if iots not exactly about the plague, its still pretty gruessome in some respects. Think about it. "Ashes, Ashes, we all fall down". What are these "ashes"? Why are we falling down? It could be interpretted in any number of ways. I was told it was people being burned at the stake and the bodies falling off. Now, wether or not its true, I dont know. But all those little kid stuff if you really think about it, are pretty gruesome.

And like DrTooth said, there is NOTHING in humpty dumpty that ever states he is an egg. and he probably died if no one could "put him back together again", if they are even talknig about a living thing

I wonder when the tradition of viewing the rhymes character as an egg exactly originated?

I have oft' wondered why the old rhymes were so morbid and filled with death, violence, and vandelism..."London's Bridge is falling down." "London's Burning." "Ring'a'ring'a roses." "Here comes to candle to light you to bed, here comes the chopper to chop off your head." "Grand Old Duke of York." "Mary Had a Little Lamb."

Ok...so...The lamb one is an exception to the rule...

Did you know that it's believed the stories of Rip Van Winkle and Sleeping Beauty were possibly based on real people? There is this brain disorder children can get called the "Sleeping Sickness" where they sleep for years and years. They can sort of wake up, but it's more like they're sleepwalking, and only do so to eat or go to the bathroom once in a while. Then the children grow out of it when they reach their 20s.

I've brought it up in another thread, but really, when you think abot it, most of these "little kid" stories, movies, songs, ect. Are full of death, violence. Disney is notorious for this. How can you have a worse death than falling and getting trampled to death after your brother pushed you off a cliff? I still cant watch that part of the lion king. If I do, I will cry. Its sad. Bambii's mom gets shot by a hunter, Cruella wants to make puppies into coats, I can go on and on with this
