Did Fraggle Rock inspire Friends?

Interesting. I don't believe Fraggle Rock inspired this show in any way, but interesting comparisons. The one I would have to disagree with is when they connected Gobo and Joey, and they said that Joey was the central focus of the show. Joey was NOT the central focus of the show.

My wife bought a Fraggle T-Shirt at MGM Studios a few weeks ago and it inspired my imagination.

I was just talking about this with my wife the other day. I'd been watching the Fraggle Rock box set, and we've also been making our way through some early Friends episodes. I think the similarities are striking!

As a huge Friends fan (my second obesession after Muppets) I can see some similarities. The only thing is that Gobo is smart and Joey is not so that makes Gobo more like Ross. I could almost see Joey being like Wembley, because he can wemble at times. It really is interesting to consider though. I think it's hilarious comparing Monica to the Doozers, but it really does fit! She's always flitting about cooking and cleaning for everyone else so it does work!
