Manhood I

Somewhere, far from the safety of the humble cabin, a ship graced the calm of the big blue. The salt air following the seagulls’ sharp harmonious cries, stalked the endless skies. The crooning of the waves soothed the navy horde, which bound them to the ship, until they’d make it to the docks. But what soothed them even more was returning to land, where they’d rejoice with their dearly beloveds. No longer would they hear the ferocious roars of cannons scraping against snapping wood, which crushed the bodies within the enemy vessel to a bloody pulp.

Sitting on the edge was a proud, smiling man with brilliant blues gazing into the shining sun. Right next to him sat a rodent and a weirdo clad in what appeared to be navy uniform. The trio chatted along while the others occupied themselves with usual activities during their rare, valued break. They spent it daydreaming of home.

“Can’t wait tah get outta dis dump of a ship.” Rizzo said, sighing.

“For once you’re not thinking about food.” Jim teased.

“Hey, don’t remind him.” Gonzo joked.

Rizzo’s eyes widened at his blue friend’s commentary. He blinked several times; unaware of the looks he got from his fellows, and gagged at the horrid idea. He slapped a hand against his forehead in shame. “Aw, man…now I know I’m missin’ home.” He whined.

“It’s not a bad thing.” Jim assured.

“Huh.” Rizzo said, looking away.

“What’s so wrong in admitting that you do?” Jim asked.

“We may be muppets, but we have our manhood to protect.” Gonzo explained.

“Pardon?” Jim asked, laughing breathily.

“Yah heard him.” Rizzo said.

“Boys…” Jim said, smiling.

*Snubs Clauddiee. Loved this, as usual. Short, but to the point. And the main a-trio has been introduced... Good. This reminds me of the beginnings of Onepiece, a pirating manga series I liked when it was on the air. Please... Post more? When you can of course.
