My dad is having that stomach 'lapband' surgery done right after New Year's and I'd appreciate it if you all would keep him and I in your prayers in the months leading up to it. Naturally, I'll keep you all posted with updates as the time draws nearer.

Isn't that where they install that little device around your stomach to tighten it up a bit to help curb hunger or something?

Either way, I'll pray for you two, Brian.

Sorry I haven't been more diligent with updates, but a lot's been going on. First of all, it wasn't the 'lapband' thing like I said earlier; it was full-out gastric bypass surgery where the surgeons only allow you a half-cup section of your stomach as a means of losing weight. Well, he's lost thirty-five pounds, but not before having to go back into the hospital for a week after developing blood clots in his lungs. And all because the stupid surgeons didn't put a filter in beforehand! But thankfully he's doing better now. Feel free to ask more questions.

Holy cow Brian, that's kind of scary to hear, but I'm happy he's doing better now, and I hope he continues to do better.

I'm so sorry about your dad, Brian :frown: My own dad has been through a lot, too, so I know how it feels.
