Hey guys,

Just thought I'd share the latest custom job to come out of the workshop. I normally have very little time for custom work (to keep creating patterns for Project Puppet), but I couldn't pass this one up.

It's a caricature puppet of Spike Lee...young...in the old Nike commercials with Michael Jordan. (Hopefully he's recognizable as I've been staring at him for so long now, I don't know what anybody looks like ) The ad campaign concept was that Michael Jordan was the best basketball player on Earth...Spike Lee was the best on Mars.

Anyway, here's a couple of pics and a video of the eye mech in action...

Great work! The control for the mech looks especially impressive.

Thanks guys!

I posted some "behind the scenes" pics over on PuppetHub.

TheCreatureWork, the glasses are carved from wood (balsa), sanded, and almost endlessly sprayed with black Plasti-Dip to give a more plastic look. The puppet was meant to be mainly for display, otherwise I probably would have had to make them from a more durable material. But balsa served the purpose this time, was very lightweight, and the glasses fit Spike perfectly.
