Hey, Dearth, think you can recreate the scene where the Muppets all look through the window of the Mallory Gallery? I'm sure the gang is all there. Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Scooter, Lew, Beauregard, Chef, Dr.Teeth, Animal, Janice, Floyd, Zoot, Lips, Rizzo and the rats, Two Chickens, Pops, Bunsen and Beaker. I think that was all of them.

Hmmm... right after Animal pulls open the window on top of them, right?

Let's see, where did I put that interesting piece of frosted plastic that I took out of a skylight?

Hey, Dearth, think you can recreate the scene where the Muppets all look through the window of the Mallory Gallery?
Okay, I chose this frame right here to try to do:
http://threads.rebelscum.com/imagepopup.php?imagename=http:%2F%2Fthreads.rebelscum.com%2Fphotogallery%2Fwatermark.php?file=162586&imagewidth=853&imageheight=480

I needed the foreground and the background, so I grabbed an earlier frame where Animal is the only Muppet, and painted him out:
http://threads.rebelscum.com/imagep...hp?file=162587&imagewidth=853&imageheight=480

Having sliced my finger yesterday while cutting foamcore, I thought this one might be easier as a digital composite. So I photographed the action figures against some green and blue faomie sheets to isolate their images:
http://threads.rebelscum.com/imagep...hp?file=162588&imagewidth=780&imageheight=580

Here's a down-angle showing how their arms had to be twisted into crazy poses to get them into the shot together. Notice that Bunsen is standing atop Beauregard's legs, which are twisted behind him, and Rizzo is perched atop Fozzie's arm:
http://threads.rebelscum.com/imagep...hp?file=162589&imagewidth=736&imageheight=481

And here's the finished composite:
http://threads.rebelscum.com/imagep...hp?file=162590&imagewidth=853&imageheight=480

Yeah, we lost Rizzo's whiskers. This was actually the second try... I had the blue foamie behind most of them on the first shot, and we were losing Dr. Teeth's feather.

I think if I tried it a third time, I would light their faces from below instead of above.

In other frames of the movie, you can see different numbers of Muppets and they sometimes change positions. Beaker is standing just off to the left, he's visible through the unbroken glass on that side when the camera pans down. Animal must be off to the right, because he will appear there when they're going to start lowering themselves down. Zoot must be with him.

But I think this is about as many action figures as I could have gotten in one shot anyway.

With a light with real dropping lightbulb!
Actually, it would be kind of cool to recreate the scene right after they've figured out their plan to stop the jewel thieves and the murphy bed closes up on all the muppets leaving only their legs hanging out. But in all reality, probably pretty hard to pull off.
