Happy Holidays everyone!

"Fresh outta the pan, Sweet Gingerbread Man!"

My younger son was eating some gingerbread men the other day, and it made me think of this sketch. As I was watching it, I realized that not only could I stitch together a cool backdrop and print it out... but in this particular instance, I could technically do the same thing with the five Muppet characters!

Ho ho ho!

I finally made a scene to show off my Lips figure:

The re-created wall behind them slides in behind Animal on the Palisades bandstand, right in front of the plastic backdrop. I put the other figures on risers to reach the proper height, and cropped them at the waist... which is oddly fitting, when one thinks about it.

And from a slightly different angle, we get this nice closeup of Lips:

Hey is there any custom toy builders out there that could do some custom Pee Wees Playhouse Figures to go with the orignal playset and figures?

Well, Rowlf is standing there in the movie (he happily vacates the piano when the EM arrive at the Hotel's bandstand), so I thought it apt to include him in the photo.

I have never customized any Pee-Wee figures. I only own a Conky (because I love robots) but a girl I dated in college had everything. She was tempted to throw them out after Pee-Wee's 1991 arrest, I should have told her to do it and then just nicked them out of the trash.

New custom figures:

"If this is the Happiness Hotel, I'd hate to see the sad one."
Not a complicated custom, but one of those things you eventually just have to do.

I had to replace my Frog Scout Leader Kermit set with the blue frog scout because its leg broke off, so I glued the leg back on the broken one and decided to use it for a custom additional frog scout...

Here he is with his eyes and hat removed and a coat of a blue-green paint on him.

Here he is, in context, with the other Frog Scouts and Kermit. (He's the one standing on the stump...)

Notice that I also swapped his crooked hat for a spare Robin hat, to break up the monotony a bit. (The frog scout with glasses was a simple addition of some leftover Scooter glasses on an extra Robin; I affectionately call him Goggles Junior.)

***

So, this meant I also had a spare FSL Kermit, right? And I'd had an idea a while back for something to do with him if I ever got one...

I combined the FSL Kermit torso with the legs of a spare Adventure Kermit which I'd won in a lot on eBay. (I was about to swap their heads, until it occurred to me that it was a lot easier to just invert the magnet in the fedora so it would attract to the FSL Kermit head, rather than repel.)

After I painted him in some new colors, I also had to make a companion piece for him out of an extra tuxedo Gonzo...

Yes, they're Ian Malcolm and Alan Grant from Jurassic Park.

As you can see, the necessity for these customs grew out of an older photo that I'd done:

"Welcome to... Jurasick Pork!"

As soon as the weather cooperates, I will retake the entire photo.

Here's an extra shot that shows the drybrushed technique used on the Alan Grant Kermit.

And since I was making use of leftover parts, what about that spare Adventure Kermit torso? Well, I paired him with an extra Koozebane Kermit for the legs, and voila:

Yes, it's Kismet the Toad! (From the comic book "The Treasure of Peg Leg Wilson"!)

Need Swinetrek reference images!

Hey folks,

Can anyone here help me out?

Long ago, in Muppet Magazine, there was a piece of artwork depicting the Swinetrek with its landing gear down, on the surface of an alien planet.

I'm working on some Swinetrek and Koozebane dioramas at the moment, and would love to see that image again.

Anybody up to digging their magazines out and sending me some scans?

I generally hate bumping my own threads, but I was still wondering if anybody has access to Muppet Magazines they can scan?

I've been working on some custom Muppet commissions, so not a lot to report at the moment, but hopefully soon.
