Of all the episodes of the Muppet Show I remember, I'm most curious on the one with Lynn Redgrave in it. Could someone explain what happened during the show and if anyone has any pics or media that goes with the show. Thanks.

The whole episode had Lynn Redgrave and the muppets perform their own version of Robin Hood, with Kermit in the title role.I remember in one scene where Miss Piggy was somehow in a trap, expecting Kermit to rescue her and kiss her.But instead Gonzo approached her and started giving her kisses, and she screamed for help. :concern:

I also remember when Lynn got sent to the dungeon. The sheriff, played by Gonzo, had these tortures planned for her. But instead he did the opposite and put himself in the thumb screw and the rack and made Lynn torture him if she didn't talk. And then Lynn left and Gonzo shouted. "We haven't gotten to the boiling oil yet!" Gonzo sure does love to torture himself a lot.

Here's a brief summary on the Lynn Redgrave episode.

-Robin Hood: cavorting in the woods
-the Sheriff catches Lynn (Maid Marian)
-Piggy wants a role
-Gonzo tortures himself instead of Lynn,
-the archery contest
-Kermit & Lynn sing
-Piggy has Lynn locked in her dressing room
-town crier
-Kermit & co. rescue Lynn
-final #.

Indeed, 't was an episode devoted to Robin Hood.

Lynn played Maid Marian. Kermit was Robin Hood, with Fozzie as Little John by his side, Scooter as Alan A'Dale narrating the story with his lute and staging the show, and a whole bunch of other Whatnots as Merry Men.
Gonzo played the Sherriff of Nottingham, and his soldiers were pigs (plus Sweetums). Piggy, who really wanted to play Maid Marian, gets the role of Sister Tuck - and she locks Lynn in her dressing room out of jealousy.
There's also cameo appearances by Lew Zealand, Swedish Chef, Beaker (Merry Men), Lewis Kazagger (sportscaster for Archery Contest), Newsman (townscrier) and Beauregard (jester).

There's an opening scene where the Merry Men "cavort" in the woods. The dungeon scene where Gonzo tortures himself instead of Lynn and gets stretched like in Muppet Treasure Island. The Archery Contest, where Kermit (in disguise) splits Black Bart's arrow in two. A duet with Kermit and Lynn, interrupted by Piggy who lets the soldier pigs lock Lynn in her dressing room.
And the final scene, where the Merry Men plan to release Maid Marian from the castle, but find Piggy there. They leave her tied (with Gonzo cuddling close to her) and release Lynn from the dressing room instead.

And for the UK Skit, Sam the Eagle, backstage at Kermit's desk, interviewed the author of the play- Mr. William Shakespeare! Enter a young Whatnot man with a NY accent. Funny bit.

This show had one of my favorite lines. I think it went like this:

Pig Soldier #1: Sure is dark.
Pig Soldier #2: Yep. Dark but still.
Pig Soldier #1: Still what?
Pig Soldier #2: Still dark.

Correction on this. I just saw the episode again. It actually goes like this...

Pig Soldier #1: How goes the night?
Pig Soldier #2: Dark....Dark but still.
Pig Soldier #1: Still what?
Pig Soldier #2: Still dark.
