Ok, even though some things are not as good as they used to be on SS, you have to say that the letter of the day with Cookie Monster is SOOOOOOO FUNNY!!! some of the stuff on there makes me laugh for like the next 2 segments! Like when he did the letter G, oh this has got to be one of my fav's! first he cant find the letter and hes all "this strange, usualy prop guy here to hand me the cookie...) and hes all looking for him, then he gets all sad cuz he cant find it, only to have this HUGE cookie drop from the sky, well, and cookie monster being Cookie, had to take just a nibble, I mean come on look how big it was! only to find himself eating the whole thing! so he einds up just as big as the cookie, realizing what he had done, there was no more lette of the day to teach the kids, then he burps really loud, and hes all "sorry I guess me a little g-g-Gassy... GASSY! see me can still teach the letter of the day! GASSY!"

or the one with the letter of the day is N, and hes about to eat the cookie as usual (its so funny, he has the cookie, you know hes going to eat the cookie but he trys not to anyway) but then his concious is all "Cookie Monster, dont eat that cookie? what the matter with you?!" or another good one is the letter D, and he writes a sign that says "don't" so he does not eat the cookie, only it gets more and more a temptation to eat it that he goes crazy and eats part of the sign, of course its teh "n't" part, so the sign looks diffrent, instead it says "do" and eats the cookie, or the letter f where hes all "ok lets be real, you know im going to eat this cookie, I know it, every body knows it, so im going to draw you a picture of the cookie, so you have educational picture and I can have the cookie" so he goes and drews the cookie with the letter f on it, then eats the cookie, then he looks at the drawing ans is all "gee thats a really good drawing, almost looks good enough to eat..." shrugs and eats the paper, im telling you, who ever writes these really has the spirit of the old ones, very funny and creative, very good job. :excited:

My favorite, letter M.

Cookie monster disguises a cookie with the classic Groucho Marx style nose and glasses.

"Excuse me, sir? Sir? Have you seen letter of day cookie? (sniffs) wait a minute... Wait a minute! You not sir! You letter M cookie!! Imposter!!!!!"

If you watch the M sketch more closely, at the very end, he does not eat the disguise with the cookie. After he's finished eating the cookie, he looks at the disguise and says, "What this? (tosses it) Yuck!" You don't see him do that too often, do you.

I wasn't going to write it word for word...

Anyway, I also like the (I think it was) letter Z, where after eating the cookie he has a piece stuck in his mouth. Frank Improvised with "Me need toothpick" and popped it out without missing a beat!

These are my favorites:

C: Cookie finds the Amazing Mumford and tries to get him to make the cookie disappear. After an unsuccessful attempt, Cookie says, "Nice sound effect, but cookie still here." And when Mumford feels he's a failure for not being able to make it disappear, Cookie says, "Aw. You too hard on yourself."

O: A two parter involving Cookie Monster packaging the cookie and calling for the mail carrier. In the 2nd part, Grover (Frank) comes in as the mail carrier and takes the package away, but ends up delivering back to Cookie Monster. I just love seeing both of Frank's classic characters side by side like this.

I didnt think Frank Oz played Cookie anymore (or any of them for that matter) does he play him still? during this segment? (they need a cookie monster smile face)

Frank played Cookie Monster in some of the Letter of the Day sketches, David Rudman played others. Similarly, Grover was by Frank as the delivery monster, while other times, say as Su-(wait for it!)-per Grover, that was Eric Jacobson.
