I remember as a little kid, I always thought it was cool when Herry and Cookie would get together. Now although they weren't seen together as much as Cookie and Ernie, or other common pairs, they seemed to have 2 personalities that just seemed to fit perfectly with each other. Probably because theyr'e the same in a lot of ways, yet different as well. Cookie has a deep passion for cookies and somewhat of a one track mind at times, while Herry who also seems to be a big eater has a little more self control, and is more serious than Cookie when he needs to be. If anyone has ever heard the recording We'll Do it Together AKA The Cookie Tree Song, you'll know what I'm talking about. Here are all the times I remember Cookie and Herry together.

Herry and Cookie sing about Circles.

Herry and Cookie sing about the letter M.

Herry and Cookie fight over a Bicycle, then Kermit tells them to share and they both devour it.

Cookie, Herry, Grover and Frazzle sing Fuzzy and Blue (and Orange)

As I mentioned above there was the recording of the Cookie tree song where Cookie saw a Cookie tree and asked for Herry's help and he stood on Herry's shoulders to get the cookies and Cookie got excited and started jumping and I remember Herry yelling "Quit jumping on my shoulders!"

In a book I have called Cookie Monster in the Cookie Tree (no relation to the song above) Cookie goes around Sesame Street asking his friends if they'll come back to the cookie tree to share cookies with him (The only way the magic tree will let him have any is if he shares with someone else) Herry tells him "Share? Your'e the Cookie Monster, you'd never share cookies. I know better than to fall for one of your tricks... Bye Bye!"

Like I said awsome chemistry. With the 2 of them being Large Monsters, with Herry being the tough guy, and Cookie being the goofy big guy. It's a friendship made in heaven. I always thought it was a crying shame the writers didn't pair those 2 up more. But I know they were both regulars on the show in the 70's and were both seen in the main storylines. Does Xerus or anyone else know of any awsome Herry and Cookie moments from the 70's? Either that or does anyone know of any more Herry and Cookie sketches, other than the ones I mentioned above? Any info on these 2 would be great.

It seems like Herry was also frequently paired with Grover. I wonder which one Herry was paired with more. Herry was paired with Grover in the Monsterpiece Theater sketch Chariots of Fur, and in the sketch where Grover thought he was going to surprise Ernie, the sketch where Grover spreaded Herry's alphabet secret, and in Mumford's suspension trick.

And there are the moments wiht all three of them, such as the recordings The Cookie Tree and Four Furry Friends, and in Fuzzy and Blue, and during the finale of Sesame Street: 20 and Still Counting.

It was a 20th anniversary special for Sesame Street, broadcast in 1989. It was hosted by Bill Cosby, and featured guest appearances by Placedo Domingo and Ray Charles.

I once had a"Little Golden Shape Book"from 1971 called"The Circle Book".Herry and Cookie Monster were the story's two main characters. It was a funny book too.Throughout the story Cookie drives Herry crazy by eating everything circular in sight.Including the wheels of thier car.
