why did jim decide to put bert and ernie on the second episode of the muppet show? i thought in the beginning that he wanted the muppet show to have its own idenity and show that it wasnt sesame street. in my opinion bert and ernie didnt really add anything to the that episode. dont get me wrong i love ms and ss crossovers.

I've noticed that happens a lot in early episodes of TV shows. (Ex. Urkel on the second ep of "Step by Step," Michelle Tanner on the second ep. of "Hanging with Mr. Cooper.") I think a lot of shows have crossovers in their earlier episodes to get people interested.
