I tried Googling to see if I could find any other cases of screen dimming problems with this model, but came up with nothing. It looks like you'll have to take it to your local computer servicing place. I don't know if you have a CompUSA near you, but they're excellent for computer problems.

Why did it start doing that?

I'm really sorry, I can't figure it out though.

dont think i will be able to help because most monitors are different but there should be some kind of knob or button on the actual monitor or even a menu system and it should be easy enough to work it out, if that doesnt work it could be that the monitor needs to be replaced. I'm not sure though.

Well, now my screen's even DARKER today! I've searched through the my computer and found only three ways to adjust my screen...

1. Adjust appearance (i.e. stretch out the picture to fit the monitor screen).
2. High Contrast 1: (everything on the screen is all black, while the text is all white)
3. High Contrast 2: (everything on the screen is all white, while the text is all black).

I DID find instructions to adjust the brightness on the screen, but those instructions were strictly for MAC's.

Well, I just Google searched my problem and turned up nothing. I found two help tips though...

1. If I had a Toshiba, I would have a knob on the side of the screen thatwould adjust the brightness.
2. They say I should let a technician or a repairman fix the problem.

Well, I'm not going to waste money for something I should be able to do! I'll try something else.

WOO-HOO! Sorry to triple post again, but I fixed the problem! All I did was unplug my laptop, and remove the battery, and when I turned it back on, my screen went back to bright! I can see clearly now! All whites are white, and not gray!

If it keeps getting darker, there's probably a defect. Take it in.

edit: Well, that's good!
