I know we're mainly speaking about how college relates to the work place. And that is important, obviously. But there is more to college than just a way to later make money. It can also be a way to gain more knowledge. If a subject interests you, college grants you access to research and information you'll likely never see again (or have time to see after getting a job).

It's good to know things, even things outside our interests. They can get you through life too, sometimes in the most unexpected ways.

Well I dunno how much of my college experience so far is relevant to any of you, because I'm in an art school at the moment (first year college student, whoopee!!). The Art world is WAY different from most other jobs out there, so I don't know what to expect when it comes to things like engineering or doctor degrees or anything like that. I just know that there's a bit of a demand for 3d animators, but that 2D is on its way back. That's a good thing for me, as I wanna be an animator of the 2D sort.

As for paintors/Sculptors/whatevers, it's just the luck of the draw, from what I've seen. Based on what the current trend is in art, and how good your agent is, that'll factor in how famous you're gonna be. It sucks that it's not based solely on talent or message anymore, but that's life for you.

Oh don't get me started. College is a good idea. If you're lucky and it winds up working out. So far I have a bad taste in my mouth from it all.

It might get better. It sounds to me like real world expeirence is just as important as College. Education comes in all different forms and feom different places. I guess it's just about what is important you you and it just depends of what you need. But knowledge is far more important then any amount of dollars. But I wlould say that being able to make a living is just as equally as important. I guess it's just what ever motivates you?:smirk: Either that or what ever is needed and most improtant to you at the moment in life.
