This was an interesting clip about busses and bus drivers. I think it started off with a couple of kids with a toy wagon and one was trying to pretend to be a bus driver by charging a "fare" for a ride in the wagon. This was a skit that had real people and no muppets. The clip then moved onto how real busses operate and what bus operators have to do including an inspection prior to passenger service. One part of the skit I remember is when a school kid boards...you don't see the driver but as the kid is trying to find his money to pay the bus fare, you can hear the driver saying very faintly "good morning" to the kid 2 times. The kid tells the unseen driver that he forgot his money and the driver tells him very faintly "pay me tomorrow"! I believe the whole skit was narrated by the kid with the wagon. At the end, I think the kid put some change into a make believe coin box that's on the wagon which makes a familiar clanking sound.

Somewhere, buried away in storage at the moment, I have a copy of this very clip. I always loved the music they scored it with. Very jazzy.

It makes me nostalgic for the time when bus fares were only 25 cents. And gas was still only 39 cents a gallon, before the big oil embargo of 1973. Ah, childhood!

If you remember this clip, there's a point when a woman boards the bus, and one of the kids narrating the action says "Hey, what a neat mirror. Oh, I get it! It lets him see people running for the bus."
As the lady gets on, you can see quite clearly on the front of the bus it says SEATTLE TRANSIT SYSTEM. Once I sent this clip to my friend Mokeystar, and when she saw this clip was filmed practically in her backyard, she just about flipped. How cool is that?

When I move to my new place in a few weeks and unpack my stuff, this will be one of the first things I dig out.

I wonder what they were doing in Seattle instead of filming it in NY? Not that it really matters but I'd figure for films like ridding the bus they'd be closeer to home.
