Here are the foot notes.
  • Origanal figure wasn't ready to be veiwed by Henson.
  • Repaint was shown first.
  • People at Henson thought the repaint was the origanal.
  • Said it was too wild.
  • The whole miscomunication was resolved…
  • But it was too late to get the first repaint back
And now you know the rest of the story… good night.

I have to say I kinda think it was silly of Henson to think that was the origanal. It wasn't labed or anything? and you 'd think Henson would have asked before anything had changed as Palisades knows that it was the re-paint. Ken really seemed excited about this reapaint too and now everything just hit the fan. Sure it's not the end of the world but this new repaint is just bland.

Communication with Henson can take a while so things get lost in the shuffle - especially now.

I'm creating a custom third repaint for my collection. It's not that wild, but he would look good with the repaint band. Plum jacket, yellow tie, silver shirt and brown shoes. I painted some shades on him just to set him in the right context. He wore a similar outfit on the show (sans silvery shirt). It's a simple design so it won't be too difficult for me to paint. http://jamesvier.com/etc/cliffordbandpaint.jpg

...... and it wouldn't have anything to do with some of their new licensing people not having a clue what Clifford actually looked like and didn't bother to get a style book out to check - right ?

LOL! Actually, he did wear that outfit so it would be in the style book. but I just don't think many of these guys think outside the box in quite the way Palisades does. But things are moving forward. Blonde. meatier Miss Piggy and purple- beaked, grungy yellow eyelid Gonzo are huge steps for them. I'm surprised they allowed the repaint band members from the beginning. (In a Bobo voice) Baby steps.

Twas a very honest, very simple, mistake on BOTH our parts. There was actually a rather big mix-up with an image CD that had been sent in and a change of personnel that caused the problem. Once the mistake was discovered they said the wilder one would be cool...BUT, the discs had already been molded in these colors and there was no time to change.

This really wasn't something they did wrong...if it is anyone's fault it was mine for not being more specific in the submission of the product for review.

Here's a pic from the Palisades site, that Ken just posted.

Check this out...some repainted parts of the repaint in progress.

Now, gonna say this for the people who may not have understood before...this is all IN PROGRESS. Which means the e-mail shows up in my inbox and nothing has been done yet on it.
