That's ok. I don't mind. Please stop. You don't need to post five times in a row.
Then that would make sense.November 1st is very close to Thanksgiving. Less than 30 days away.
I think that Thanksgiving has been diminished over time in part for political correctness and in part because it's not as special as it use to be to have a big meal. It's no longer PC to glorify the founding of the country due to the violence associated with it (kind of like Columbus Day). Combine that with the fact the many Americans have access to large amounts of food on a regular basis and can have instant access with family members if they want it and you really don't have a special event....In what way is that good?
I'm sick and tired of Thanksgiving being ignored and everyone skipping right to Christmas. I love Christmas, don't get me wrong, but why dosen't anyone care about Thanksgiving anymore?
I couldn’t disagree more about holidays being just for kids (One could say the same thing about the Muppets). I don’t think Thanksgiving is being phased out nor do I think it’s for PC reasons (Heck, some people think Christmas is not PC). It’s simply that, compared to Halloween and Christmas, Thanksgiving might be a little on the dull side. Again, they do have Thanksgiving greeting cards today, something that did not exist when I was a child. There’s only so much that can be done with a holiday that is basically another meal.I think that Thanksgiving has been diminished over time in part for political correctness and in part because it's not as special as it use to be to have a big meal. Halloween is the only holiday like it and Christmas has specifically become a holiday about buying stuff so corporations will never let it die. If not for all the commercialism, Christmas wouldn't have nearly the presence (no pun intended) that it currently has.
Holidays are really for kids anyway. If you aren't a kid or don't have a kid there really isn't anything special about them.
