I wonder if his 'catfish' word came from the Toyfare 'Muppet Guide' issue:

"The catfish host of "Muppets Tonight!"..."

Clifford was never really a favorite of mine- he's certainly no Kermit!

Apparently if you have dreadlocks or a dreadlock-like hairstyle, you automatically look like Whoopi Goldberg.

I think there was an episode of Muppets Tonight! where somebody called Clifford "cat fish-faced", but didn't exactly call him a cat fish.
