I was trying to remember the clip that featured Carol Burnett in the early 70's I think. It looked like the skit was done in her own studio. She was describing what a nose can do. She smelled a bouquet of flowers, she wiggled her nose (the camera zoomed in on her nose), and then she was trying to think of something else and finally she sneezed with a brief bit of laughter from an unseen audience. She looked into the camera and I think she said "I forgot...a nose can sneeze" (sniff!) Does anyone remember this? And if so did I leave anything out? Please refresh my memory:smile:

Hi- You described it perfectly, that's pretty much exactly how the clip went. I can recall seeing it in the late 70's on the show as well. I am pretty sure that that clip is also on one of the "Unpaved" episodes, but I don't know which one. Can anyone confirm that?
I do know that Carol also appeared very briefly in the first episode in another short clip. (Less than 15 seconds, just commenting on the "Wanda the Witch" cartoon).

There was also a clip of Carol Burnett saying, "Well, back to the old drawing board" that was shown after a lot of the Rocket Countdown cartoon skits.

Was she a good friend of Jim Henson's at the time..or just involved with SS in another manner? Cuz she was also on the Muppet Show and the Jim Henson Tribute.

There've always been guests stars on SS and Victor Borge, Lena Horne were also both on SS and TMS.

There was also a clip of Carol reciting the alphabet. She'd say a few letters
normally "A,B,C", then she'd start crying "D,E,F,(Sniff!)G" , then get angry
"H,I,J,K,L,M", hysterical "N!! O!!!! P!!!!", laughing "R,S (Hahahaha), T(HEEHEEHEEHEEHEE!!!!), then return to normal "U,V,W,X,Y,Z".

She also did this while counting to 20.
But the clip of her showing what the nose can do is still the best to me.

It sounded right to me. I think I saw that one. I love to watch Carol Burnett. She is genius. Anyone watch Mamas Family?

Yes. I like it. Funny though how different it was from the first season and premiere, from the second season. I enjoy watching it though. :embarrassed:

are you sure you don't mean her counting to 20 or did she do both? I remember the counting one were she did the same thing and as a kid I somehow felt intiminated by it. after all I didn't know who she was at the time like most of the guest and it just felt wierd seeing a grown woman acting go goofy counting to 20.
