where I can find information on a certain Sesame Street sketch? I remember this one sketch where there is a King who wants a picnic.

After he says he likes watermelon, everyone brings watermelon. No picnic. Then he says he likes potato salad, everyone brings that. No picnic. This goes on and on until someone has the brillant idea to have everyone bring something different. Yeah, picnic!

I looked for this on You Tube with no luck. Can anyone help out finding this? Hopefully an online video, or a written script.

That's a classic from the "old school" Sesame Street days. It's obviously very rare - I don't think it's on YouTube.

There is an old record titled "Sesame Street Story Time" that includes the soundtrack to this skit. If you can find a copy of the album, you can listen to it again, along with some other great Sesame Street stories.

You can see the album cover & track listing on TinyDancer's site:

Don't think it's all that rare. I recall seeing it quite a bit growing up.

Pretty funny piece I must say.

Tiny Dancer is Great

I actually emailed Tiny Dancer, herself, and asked about this skit and she has not been able to find it. I looked for the album on itunes, and no luck.

I was going to use a modified version for a skit for my church group. We have to change it a little bit because we are performing it in Guatemala and they don't eat watermelon or potato salad.

(FYI- What does the King's Picnic have to do with church? Lesson - we all need different gifts (talents) to make a whole church, just like we all need to bring different stuff to the picnic to have a good picnic.
:smirk:

Hey, I think it beats the skit I found online about the different body parts talking to each other. That one kind of creeped me out. Plus, how can you go wrong with Old School Sesame Street?)

So it looks like I'm going to have to write the skit from memory. Thanks for trying to help.

I wonder if they stopped airing that one before I was born because I've never seen it before.
