Can somone explain Sesame Workshop?

Now, I have to say, If 1970's SS creates obnoxious immature induviduals like yourseolf, I'm GLAD they've changed the show.

Message to GeeBee (I can think of 100000 nasty remarks about those initials) GET THE HECK OVER IT! They changed SS, they won't change it back LIVE WITH IT. If yiou don't like new SS... FINE! There's nothing wrong with loving classic SS, or perfering it to the newer one. There's much wrong when all you do is spam your opinion, while attacking others, starting flame wars in threads which HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH PRO or ANTI-SS OPINIONS (I.e. this thread). I'm not saying I have to be likes, but you could at least have the mature decency and common sense to

A) realize we ALL know you're opinion, you don't have to bludgeon us with it.

B) Stop the *&^%^ character attacks. It's okay to defend your opinion, as long as it's an opinion thread. No one has to agree or disagree with you.

C) Get over it. I express my PRO SS opinion because, I'm sick of the 19 a day posts about how old SS can't compaire to the new one, and all the billions of anti-Elmo propaganda. It's time for a fresh perspective. If you do not like new SS, FINE. Don't watch it. Don't complain about it. Ignore it. SS doesn't care if a 20-30 year old wants classic skits. They care if they can work for 2-6 year olds. Get over it and grow up.

Uh, if we go back and look in the archives, I think it will become clear that it was the defenders of the new Sesame Street that started the personal attacks with words like "whiny", "narrow minded", etc. Lovers of the real Sesame Street of yesterday expressed our opinions and you people took them as personal attacks and starting flaming us. Once again, I will say whatever I want in any thread as long as I am not violating the moderators' rules. I have no desire to continue these personal attacks, but you can rest assured that I will continue to express my opinions on the new show. Now, I'm willing to call it truce if you will or we can keep it up until we both get thrown off of here. I'm willing to take it as far as you are, doctor.

Disney, not SW would own total rights, and that would mean no money for SW thereafter for all the SS toys, games, books and other merchandise, which has always been a vital source of revenue for SW, is now money for Disney, thus effectively threatening to kill the show altogether. Exactly *how* would this "help matters"

Do you really want to know? I was going to let the subject drop, but since someone asked (once again), I'll give you my opinion once again. I think the current format on Sesame Street stinks (and that's putting it mildly for a family board). I believe that ANY outside assistance would be promising. I've seen the Muppet attraction at Disney World and it's excellent. I like a lot of what Disney has been doing in the past couple of decades. Disney has aged a lot better than Sesame Street and seems to have never really abandoned its essence. I can't guarantee that Disney would improve Sesame Street, but given the current status of both, I'd say that ownership by Disney would either bring current Sesame Street a step up or bring current Disney a step down.

That is my opinion which I will state whenever I feel the subject comes up. I don't care if some members disagree. You are free to post your differences of opinions on here as well (as many times as you wish). Peace out.

Hi! I've been good friends with GeeBee for quite a while now, and I see where he's coming from.

It is immature to use words like "whiney" and say tough luck because SS isn't the same as it used to be. I don't like to pick sides, but as far as I'm concerned, if children still enjoy the show, then what more can we ask for? I'm glad that there's going to hopefully be more classic Sesame Street reaired in the new future on a new channel.

It's like Elvis and the Beatles and all the other greats....as long as it's on film or recordings, and there's an interest in it...the magic will linger on for eternity.

So, let's "picture a world/where little kids run/where the sunshine is pouring love and life on everyone/and try to make it a way to make it that way"

Welcome, Hooperdusty. Glad to have you here.

I think a lot of people here are very nostalgic about the old days, but somewhere along the line, other members began taking it personally. I'm not really sure why. I can respect the opinions of people who prefer the newer episodes and I'm really not out to change anyone's mind or put anyone down for their preference. It's just difficult not to attack back when someone attacks you.

The idea of vintage episodes on a Sesame Street channel sounds great and I hope that comes to pass.

New things are fine as long as the old is not thrown away.
