As a collector of recordings of the classic Muppet Show theme, I frequently search Amazon.com's mp3 store to see if there's anything new. A few weeks ago, I found this:
http://www.amazon.com/Muppet-Show-Theme-TV-Themes/dp/B003U08AAE/
The "album," such at it is, has no performer credits, and some tracks (such as this one) have clearly been edited down into the 30-second "ringtone" range from a longer original recording. I'm wondering if anyone here might be able to identify the original source, since I love the classic Dixieland interpretation.
(P.S. Scroll down this page to hear an outstanding rendition of the theme from "Three Men and a Tenor": http://www.threemenandatenor.com/ ... I'd say the orchestration on that is about as close to the original show as I've heard.)
