Buster's Original voice (1980)

Now I know Forgetful Jone's voice was orginally supplied by Michael Earl Davis during the 1980-1981 season and of course Clementines was Brian Meehl. But who did the voice for Buster? For those of you who might have Noggin episode #1446 on tape might be able to tell me if u listen carefully. Any help would be appreciated on this. Thanks

I never knew that Buster originally had a different voice, but it has me thinking... Geez, doesn't Martin Robinson have any original characters of his own, or does he love hand-me-downs? Slimey was originally performed by Michael Earl Davis, Snuffy was originally performed by Jerry Nelson, and Telly was originally performed by Brian Meuhl.

Don't forget, Kevin Clash also seemed pretty well known for Hand me Downs as he took over Elmo from Richard Hunt, Dr. Nobel Price and Clementine from Brian Meehl, and that Rapper guy with sun glasses (forgot his name again) from Brian Meehl I think.

Actually, I believe that Hoots and Kingston Livingston were Kevin Clash originals.

I'm pretty sure that Kevin originally did Buster's voice (he sounds like a younger Kingston with a Southern accent).

Kevin didn't start performing on the show until 1984 and this skit is from 1980.

He wasn't credited until 1984. At that time he was also performing on Captain Kangaroo and The Great Space Coaster, but Kevin did perform on SS. There's also a segment, the "Big Kids Cry" song, from show 1709 or 1710 (from 1982), where Kevin provides lead vocals.

Hmmmm, that's interesting. I never knew Kevin Clash was there from so early on. So that must mean he always did perform Fermizeti Donzerelli the rapper. I'll bet that skit with Buster in it from 1980 was Kevin's very first performance ever on Sesame Street. You could tell he was brand new at the time, because the way he performed Buster was kind of awkward looking.

F-E-R-L-I-N-G-H-E-T-T-I D-O-N-I-Z-E-T-T-I. I found out on a "Getting Ready to Read" activity book.

Do you know when Mike Davis joined the show? Was it '79 (with Muehl) or was it '80?
