Heyya guys,
Not to be a negative nelly, but I just had to make a thread about this recent topic. Dunno whether to put it under Friends & family or General Discussion but, meh... doesn't matter.
Alrighty, here in Aus (well- some parts anyway) the weather has been... ridiculously hot. It's been up to about 46 degrees, which isn't pleasant. -_- But I shouldn't be complaining about the weather, since there's been bushfire's EVERYWHERE, really serious ones. Not in my area, luckily, but lots of people have died (over 100) and lots of people have been left homeless and severly burnt, due to this boiling hot, windy weather: bushfire season. And alot of vunerable people such as young'uns and elderly peeps have died just from the hot weather.
The weather hasn't been as hot -where I live, anyway - (it went down to 17 today! That's Aussie weather fer ya), but the bushfire's in some area's are still going. Most people of the died yesterday. I remember 20 being reported dead, and within a few more hours it was 60, and it just kept getting worse. My heart sank, and what really burned my waffles was the fact that some of these bushfires were actually started by arsinists (sp?) on purpose.
*Sigh*... ANYWAY, here's s'more info, if ya'll interested: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/02/09/2486268.htm?section=australia. And I just wanted to ask a favour of ya guys to keep these people in danger and their families in your prayers- thanks a bunch.

Well anyway, I'm glad to know at least some of the folks here who live there are alright. Not everyone is accounted for yet, but I'm sure they'll be alright. I'll definately keep everyone in my thoughts and prayers!
Yeah, it's very tragic (my dad's mate lives up in NSW, so he's gonna ask him if there's anyone we can help somehow)... absolutely horrible, but yeah- thanks fer your thoughts. Very charitable.
