Here is an ugly version of Pino from Sesamstraat (the dutch Sesame Street)

my theory is that this was Big Bird when he became The Blue Bird of Happiness in Follow That Bird and he was so depressed he started drinking and smoking

Okay check this out, some Spanish variety show did a Plaza Sesamo tribute in 1995 and it went horribly wrong

I would like to insult each costume one by one but I'll just pick a few to insult for now. Cookie Monster looks like a cross between Grimace and HR Pufnstuf, Bert looks like someone sat on his head and squashed it and Big Bird looks like a chicken on drugs

I think these were their references for the characters.

Yeah they do kind of look like the little people, I still don't understand why the Cookie costume has eyelids
