Hey everyone,

I was wondering if Big V was ever on in the early days of SS. I remember seeing a publicity photo of him (with other SS Muppets and Jim) from 1969 (this was at an exhibit).

But was he on the show? I thought I heard something about him in a sketch where he ate a radio that belonged to...Bert (or maybe Kermit).

Anyone know?

The radio where Big V ate in the 1969 sketch actually belonged to Kermit.

Kermit's radio. Okay, thanks:smile:

But does anyone know what happened in the sketch? I don't remember seeing the clip on Noggin. Any help would be appreciated.

It might help if we knew who the Big V was.

The one person I think of is Dick Vitale, the very noteworthy - and loud - college basketball analyst. He would be the kind to swallow a radio in a sketch, being an announcer. I checked and he was a coach in New Jersey in 1969, when someone mentioned, so I might be way off base  That's why I asked, though. And if I'm wrong it can still make a humorous illustration for when I teach, so i asked.

If it wasn't Dick Vitale, though - for those who follow college basketball, don't you think there could be a fun sketch on quiet and loud with him?
