Big project; can you guys help?

Okay here's the genesis;my wife and I are about to try and have our first child. I've been amassing a large library of children's literature and other media forms. The problem is, I can't find any Sesame Street episodes from the 60's 70's and 80's. (I think 1989 will be my cutoff point). I want to get every episode from the start of the program until the end of 1989 and put them on neat, clean DVDs that I can have for my kids. Can anyone help with this project? I'd be willing to share the finished work with anyone interested.

I've been a lurker here for awhile now, and I've read a few threads about tape trading and I have a few cartoons and other video media(Spider-man and X-men cartoons from Fox, Simpsons, every muppet film and the Time-Life Muppet show DVDs) I can trade.

It's impossible to get ALL of the first 2,615 episodes, but some of us (namely, yours truly) have made a pretty good start. See the link below.

Impossible eh? I'll take that challenge! Do you suppose I could talk to PBS and buy the episodes?

Hi Bouchard. First off, velcome to the vonderous vorld of Muppet Central's forums!
Secondly, sounds like you're shooting for the term of Sesame Street that could be called "Sesame Street Unpaved". At least, that's what Noggin called the 70 episodes they showed from 1969 to 1989. As for getting all the episodes from that era, it will indeed be a great challenge. You can start up deals with people here on these boards to get as many episodes you want/can get. Thinking of doing that myself maybe later in the year. Though you might have to deal with multiple traders and even then, not sure if you'll get all the episodes from the first 20 years of the show.

The other thing that might interest/help you would be to wait for my own plans to come to fruition. See, you're a new guy here and don't know, but there's a thread I've been posting in its several versions in the Classic Muppets section, the current one is "Muppet Listings 14.0" with version 15 almost upon us. Well, in order to make that list truly complete, I'm gonna have to watch all episodes of Sesame Street at some point, most probably after finishing my studies at my university's Law School. Then, the true focus of my Hensonian research can begin, and I plan to travel to the film vaults needed to get all episodes of the productions involved in the listings to date. However, I'm not sure how long that'll take to do and get the episodes for my own project. So I'd advise you to start up those deals for whatever episodes you can get.
