Yeah, I've seen Big Bird get angry before. He DOES sort of sound like Oscar.

O.K., I've glanced at the show for a little bit today and I caught Matt's Big Bird. At least I think it was Matt's. He did sound a little different, but I can't complain too much. It's like, you know it's a different performer but I thought he was doing okay in trying to imitate Carroll. It's better than Eric Jacobson's Bert anyway. I'd still like to hear how Big Bird sounded back in 1969.

By the way, excuse me for getting off subject here, but I've noticed a voice over before the show that said "Sesame Street is sponsored by..." It sounded like Roscoe Oreman (Gordon). Was that really him or was it someone else?

Well, I haven't even seen any of the new SS episodes! But, soon. Hopefully, soon. I keep hearing about Journey to Ernie. Or something like that.

I've noticed the whole Big Bird/Oscar thing. Adn, I understand perfectly why these performers haven't been doing as much. Imagine going to work every day when you're 69 (or so) and having to put on this heavy costume with your hand above your head! Pretty rough.

Also, I don't mind Eric Jacobson's Bert so much. He sounds like him. The only problem I have with it is, since when does Bert actually LIKE anything Ernie does???????? In Play with me Sesame, Bert actually has fun!!!!!!! What is with that????????

That is weird. I guess, after nearly 35 years Ernie is starting to wear Bert down.

Actually, I thought Bert sounded sort of different in "Elmo's World: Happy Holidays." Of course he had hayfever then, so he was supposed to sound stuffed up. I haven't seen Eric's Bert too much other than that.

Back on the subject of Big Bird, I'm wondering if maybe Carroll just didn't like the "Journey to Ernie" sketch. Just my thoughts on this, because he plays Big Bird everywhere else.

There's a number of excellent reasons why Matt plays Big Bird in JTE, none of them to do with Caroll's opinion about the segment.

Eric's Bert, along with Grover, Fozzie, Miss Piggy and others, continues to improve by leaps and bounds. He's very close and getting closer. You guys will love some of the new Bert and Ernie sketches he and Steve have recorded.

"Play With Me Sesame" was written by a non-Sesame writer. Some of the character issues will be cleared up in the second season.

Frank Oz sometimes has the same problems:smile:

When Fozzie is afraid, he sounds like Grover

Yeah. A good example of that was in the Racquel Welsh episode of TMS when Animal attacked him then said, "I think I'll sit quietly in my dressing room." Miss Piggy can also sound like Grover when she gets angry.

I know what's freaky of Herry Monster on the song, "Circles" is where he had a furry nose and he doesn't have a tounge. He kind of scares me in 1997 when I watched Plaza Sesamo, but mom doesn't let me watch it.
