Bernie reference in Ocean's Eleven?

Not sure if this is a direct reference to bernie Brillston (sp?), to the fact that the Muppets are always refering to their agent as Bernie, or whether it's just a traditional joke that started goodness knows where that all Stars agents are called Bernie...but, in Ocean's Eleven one of the characters is talking about an agent...

"Yeah, Bernie says...oh, wait, not that agent. Oh well, they are both called Bernie..."

I just noticed it yesterday and wondered if there was a connection?
