I was the mascot at the parade for homecoming this past thursday. And, I want to thank Big Bird so much. Being a mascot is a very expressional. You have to use your hands and body so much to communicate. After all, you can't talk, and you have this huge suit on. When I was walking in my suit, I just kep thinking about Big Bird, so my walk was pretty much his walk, and I also picked some stuff up from Mickey Mouse and just miming in general. I blew kisses, grabbed my stomach and shook and leaned back when I was laughing and shook my stinger. There is a lot of phyical things about how we communicate and it was weird because after I took the suit off I was so used to not talking that I would just nod my head and such when people asked me questions, :smile:

Need I remind you this is a family forum....just kidding. Good for you. It's hard to communicate without words, especially covered in several layers of foam and material.

Congrats, Mario!

I've been doing costumed character work for about 10 years, and you have found the fun! People either feel like that...like they are bringing to life something inanimate, giving it character. Or they're hot and it hurts and they don't like it at all. I love it. Glad you got the "bug", pardon the pun.
