Scale isn't always important. Remember with the X-men, they are going from Epic-End-Of-The-World type Drama/Action!!! To Wolverine prequel, and, more drasticly, a Magneto prequel. Which is a complete 180 change in terms of tone and style.

I saw the movie yestedray morning and I liked it, but there were things that could have been better. I did like the major battle at the end though. Now that was fun to watch.

By the way, anybody notice Stan Lee when he talks to Peter Parker and says "I guess one man can make a difference" halfway into the movie?

****Spoilers*****

1.) I thought the beginning was really rushed and didn't flow well together. One scene might be Peter Parker and Mary Jane together, then the next scene would be a quick one showing Harry getting ready to be the new Green Goblin, then we're back to Peter and Mary Jane talking about how they love each other, etc.

2.) There seemed to be too much going on within the entire movie. You have Peter and Mary Jane and their relationship on the rocks, then there's Peter going to propse to Mary Jane, then you get Eddie and Gwen and their little thing, and Eddie trying to get Peter's job at the newspaper, and you have Harry and his problem of trying to be the Green Goblin and then him getting knocked out and going back to the old Harry before he became crazy trying to not only avenge his father but also get Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Then you have Flint escaping prision and trying to help get money to cure his daughter's illness and then becoming the Sandman. And ofcourse, Peter Parker getting attached to the sybiont and then it going to Eddie and him becoming Venom.

There was just too much stuff squeezed into the movie.

3.) I think the movie itself should have been about 2 hours, if not less, and cut out some of the story ideas and leave it for the 4th movie, if there would be a 4th movie. Yes have the Sandman, and yes have Harry become the new Green Goblin, and yes have the symbiont come to Earth and bonf with Peter Parker.

But, only have the character of Gwen as a sideline character with a limited amount of screen time. Show her being in class with Peter, but going out with Eddie, until Eddie blows his job by showing fake photos of Spiderman and getting fired from his boss Mr. Jameson. But save Gwen for more for the 4th movie.

Also, have Spiderman battle the Sandman and the Green Goblin with Harry/Green Goblin dying and the Sandman either dying or realizing he messed up and turns himself in.

Also towards the end of the movie, have Peter Parker lose the symbiant, from the noise in the church, like in the movie, and it going to Eddie. However, at the end of the movie when Peter has defeated the bad guys and thinks everything is back to normal, show the end where Venom is walking down an alley or swinging through a dark part of the city, with the camera on his shadow, saying he's going to get revenge on Peter Parker/Spiderman. And then show what Venom looks like for the last 7 seconds for everyone and finally having the screen go black with the words "to be continued".

Now that ending would have made the audience crave for the 4th movie.
