It's not hard to be excited for it. All the trailer and TV spots have been... well... fantastic. And what I read of the novelization really wasn't awful.

I just think it's really surprising how they're going to have each member of the team switch powers with one another in the movie (i.e. Johnny switching his fire abilities with Ben's super strength and rock hard exterior).

I was talking about that one scene from the full trailer with my brother, wondering how come Johnny wasn't talking in a rough, heavy voice like Ben does as The Thing. Not to mention he also had all of his hair left, which he really isn't supposed to, considering the fact that Ben loses all of his hair in the comics, after transforming into The Thing.

It might be just a brief scene in the film, but it'll be really interesting to see how they all will switch like that, courtesy of Silver Surfer's cosmic powers.

I'm sure some executive at Fox said, "How can we capitalize further on Jessica Alba's incredible sex appeal? LET'S MAKE ALL THE MEMBERS SWITCH POWERS, AND SHE'LL GET MR. FANTASTIC'S POWERS AND BE ABLE TO STRETCH ALL ABOUT AND WHATNOT. WHY AM I SHOUTING?"

I keed.

I've got a feeling that's the direction they're going in. And if they do have some sort of "bust joke" with Sue having Reed's powers, then I'm going to sink in my seat.:stick_out_tongue:

Hmm...I was under the impression that only Johnny could switch, since he was dragged up into space by the Surfer....

Well, I think when they all come in contact with SS, they all will eventually start switching powers with each other and not just Johnny switching when he's near one of them. I don't think each member of the team has to be dragged into space in order for powers to flux either. If that's the case, then Johnny might just be the only one who can switch.

Hey, cool avatar muppetwriter.
It is cool. But would you believe I actually moved my head side to side just to check the picture didn't turn red at certain angles like all the promo material?

A major player who has been known to longtime fans as a giant purple planet eater, and will now be known as a giant friggin' cloud.
For someone who doesn't want this to be true you sure are hanging on to the belief that it is.

We were discussing this very detail over on He-Man.org (the #1 site for Masters of the Universe fans in case you didn't know) and someone posted the statement from the studio dismissing it as false. I'd copy it for you but He-Man.org is down for maintenance soon as it's up I'll post it over if I don't find it elsewhere first.

You got to take info from aintitcool with a grain of salt they have a habit of posting rumors saying they are the truth.

anyone who thinks Galactus can't look good on screen I direct your attention to this screenshot from Marvel Ultimate Alliance:

And that's just with video game graphics a big Hollywood budget could do even better!

You make a good point, but it's Fox. I'm not sure how much I trust the company that in turn trusted Brett Ratner to make a remotely entertaining X-Men movie.

I've heard several places other than here state the same thing, which is somewhat of a relief. Still, I'll believe it when I see it.

True also.

Mighty impressive. Still, though, I couldn't rely on Fox to give me Sentinels or a good Danger Room, either, even though they most certainly could have been done.
