Yeah the international syndication for it is massive (very much like ALF who has also stood the test of time) and i think they will probably remake the Munsters like they did The Adams Family - the original series still in airs in the states on one of those retro cable channels i think. I keep seeing things on Ebay for Munsters action figures but it's just a cloth doll with a solid head i think - not a proper figure. I agree about the playset - you'd have to have Grandpa's lab/dungeon in the basement though too where he could hang upside down. I think there was like an airfix Munsters living room playset and it sold really well. Have there been Adams Family figures yet ? Maybe it could be a double line as they always get paired up.

........ and of course we all know Ken is very experienced in designing dark and moody lab playsets ! ;-)

Musters/Addams Family

Hiya!

The Munsters were made as dolls with cloth clothing and included Herman, Grampa, and Lily--that's it. They were really kinda cute toys, and made my some toy collector company who also made 3 stooges, Laurel and Hardy, Gilligan's Island, George Burns (young and old) and the Honeymooners (sans Trixie Norton).

The Addams Family figures that "I" have were based on the cartoon which came out after the first Raul Julia film. They didn't complete the line, so there is no Wednesday and Itt.

KEN...HELP!

I just got the Animal playset as a holiday gift and I love it but I have two concerns.

One, I got one drumstick in my box and an empty space where the second should be. Let me check again, yep, one. Since I can't return it ( being a gift) is there anything you guys can do so I don't have to hide one arm under the toms?

Second, one wrist and the feet joints are very sticky. I'm worried that if I force them, he'll break. Do you (or anyone) have tips to loosening them? Boiling? Freezing? I'm open.

I do want to reiterate how great this set is. It's huge! I'm almost gald you're pacing the playset releases. I wouldn't have room for them all in a year!

I'm amazed (as I was by Floyd) how you used actual instruments as the reference rather than the stylized intruments on the showMcFarlane's Metallica figures were not even this accurate!

And for the sticky joints, I seem to remember people talking
about freezing being really helpful. Perhaps someone that's tried it can give you a more specific answer.

While you're on the subject of retro TV lines, will Palisades be doing any more Rankin/Bass stuff like they did with the Miser Brothers this year?

No plans thus far. YWASC was not our license anyway. Musicland contracted us to make the figures, and they have the license rights, not Palisades.

Is the fifth figure for Series 5 a Collector's Club only exclusive or just a Palisades website exclusive? Same question for the fifth figure in series 6.

It is a retailer exclusive. It will not be available through the club. But it should be fairly easy to get.

Also, I haven't seen anything on the boards about them, so I'll ask What's the status of the Muppet theatre playset and the Sweetums figure?

On the drawing board. Although most likely Sweetums will be a carded figure, not packed in with a Playset.

I know this is gonna be a wierd one Ken, but ever thought about the license for 'The Munsters' ?

Loved the show, but in the past few years shows like that or some of the other classic TV line attempts have only had marginal success. I think it would be a very cool line to make though.
