Yeah, I deffenitly want to see Bear on Patrol!

As far as Sweetums goes, I don't think he's been canceled, just no deffenite plans that we've heard of here yet. Maybe someone else knows.

I dont' think Pops or Marvin Suggs are all that obscure...people much less dedicated to muppets than I recognize them both...they're certainly no worse than crazy harry or beauregard....and way way better than digit...who most people wouldn't recognize as a muppet if he came with a t-shirt saying "I'm a Muppet" on it...

personally those are two figures that I really hope to see...

According to Mupet Central's release schedule, we're supposed to be getting Marvin Suggs, one of my absolute favorites. But, still nothing about Pops, although I hope we get him.

I could be wrong about this. I usually am.

Come to think of it, if they had a prominent role on the Muppet Show, the only main thing really making them obscure is the fact as to whether or not they appeared in the movies multiple times.

To be honest, before MFS, I never knew what a Johnny, Sal, or Pepe was. I don't have Disney and never saw MT. I forgot totally about any characters (except Clifford) from Jim Henson Hour.

Yup. I would like Marvin Suggs and the Muppephone (removeable Muppephone heads), Pops, Lips... They deserve it. And I want to buy them. Otherwise, maybe (if not available through the stores) they could be made available through other markets (ToyFare et al).

Lips would be really cool. I mean, you're right, Pops and Marvin both had big parts on TMS, but their movie roles are limited to Pops in TGMC, and Marvin Suggs spinning around in circles at the beginning and end of The Muppet Movie.

I'm definately more into the MS characters than the characters from MT. I didn't have Disney either so I only got to see MT when it was ABC for the first three or four shows ('felt more like the first
five minutes). I really only remember Clifford and Johnny & Sal from MT. I didn't get to see MFS when it came out either so my introduction to Pepe was the Long John Silvers ads. They're really the only later characters I can think of that I'd really like to see figures of. Maybe Blind Pew too. I'm really more in it for the nostalgic characters from TMS. I'm still hoping for Lips and Uncle Deadly!

I think Marvin, Johnny and Sal should all be released, but not in the same wave. Johnny and Sal should be mixed in with some bigger guns. But the characters could always be on the air by the time 7 rolls around - so the point could be moot. As it stands now, I agree that the wave seems weak. I think most of it is penciled in. We know how things can change.

I need to double check that list! I haven't in a while. I need to see what's where and who comes when--or something.

Yeah i think Jamie put it very well and that was kinda what i was aiming at. Wave 7, although tentative looks really weak right now, because some people would regard Marvin Suggs on the same kinda level as Johnny & Sal, and others would maybe put Marvin slightly lower, but whatever way you look at it thats 3 fairly weak characters all in the same wave. Johnny & Sal might be popular with the hardcore fans but they haven't been used all that much besides Muppets Tonight (which wasnt all that well recieved) and a few bit parts in the later movies. Marvin is less recognisable to the newer and younger fans but on around the same level as Crazy Harry to the fans in older age groups who were around to watch 'The Muppet Show'. I would argue that Crazy Harry is a more visable character to fans of all ages in general than Marvin Suggs because he's very recognisable from the Muppet Movies as well as the show.

It's not my personal preference that Marvin Suggs, Pops, Johhny & Sal or even Clifford get made but i do see a place for them but just as one figure each wave alongside other very strong characters. Fan nuggets may be a great thing and doing 'nostalgic' characters is great for us but i think you've gotta think about what the consumer base as a whole wants and what will actually sell ........... i think that it'd probably be more beneficial to the line if Ken did some more funky looking movie variants of main characters, some of his original ideas, or just brought forward some of the regular versions of main characters that we're waiting for. I guess we need some thinly spread obscures to increase character variety but i'd go with Lips before Marvin or Pops so people can complete the 'Mayhem' but not in the same wave as Johnny or Sal.
