Why is Kermit's camera so tall? He can't use it.
Well, it actually is sport of in scale with him, and since he is small, it seems irrelevant to have it in there. The truth though? I feel like I sleepwalked through Series One, in design, execution, thought. I feel like Series 2 is a lot better thought out and interesting...much of that due to the feedback from people here, who got involved at the onset of the Series 2 process, but whom I did not know when Series One began. Would I do the camera if I had it to do over? No. I would say the same for a lot of aspects of Series One. But that's the nature of the beast...you learn a little something with each thing you make.
I think the fate of the lobsters hasn't been desided yet.
It has been. Lobsters are no longer going to be in the Kitchen. They will be included in an item that we will probably release as a show/club exclusive.
Ken's already said they want a new sculpt for MEGA Animal, so I'm sure this is not the actual thing.
It is not the MEGA Animal. Because of the early running of Diamond solicitations and other sales issues, we often have to run photos of pieces early, before the product is truly complete. IN the arena of the MEGA's, we have been showing larger pictures of the smaller figures, with the expectation of making any tweaks before production. Happens all the time...so don't think of it as a bait and switch. Unless of course you want to...
i think it's fake...and if it's real, well...then i just stepped in it big-time...but i decided to call "shenanigans" on it bofore someone else took it at face value.
It is and it isn't, so your shoes remain doo-doo free.
Is the Mayheim bus going to be the actual bus, and it opens up, or just some of the interior?
Was actually discussing this with the sculptor today. The top will come off, there will be a staging area in the back. But for all intents and purposes from the outside it will function as a bus...and the wheels will roll and all that. It will simply be a but smaller in scale and have less seats and more open space on the inside.
What is the "Star Hog" magazine going to be? A plastic mock up with his picture silk screened or stickered on the front, or will it be an actual paper magazine?
It will be the former, not the latter.
And have you coinsidered having Statler and Waldorf come with "Playbills" of the Muppet Show?
Considered giving it to one of them. Maybe the other will have some score cards or some veggies. They both have Victorian Gentleman's chairs.
Ken, how was your weekend?
Was good. Good football games, although the Rams lost again. Jen came back Friday night after being gone all week and even though three toy shelves bit it because I did not use toggle bolts in them only two pieces on the three shelves were broken beyond repair. Went right to Home Depot and began the toy shrine upgrades.
Ken, how much do you have to do with the G.I. Joe Busts? i just saw the upcoming Destro one, and i have to admit...i'm sold. busts seem to be the new "thing" but i've been able to avoid them. i havn't even picked up the Transformers ones yet. but i'm gonna have to get Destro...he's just too cool!
Did you see today's pics on the Daily Bit? What did you think? I have the same to do with the Joe busts as I do with the Muppet stuff. Design, art direction, production, QC, that sort of thing. The busts have all been sculpted by Jon Mathews, a guy I used to work with at ReSaurus who now freelances, and all prototyped and painted by Plan B, which is Jay, Chris and Tony, also formerly of ReSaurus. Those three guys are in my wedding, and all of the Palisades crew will be there. I mention that because for some weird reason I just thought that if meteor hits my wedding two toy companies would be wiped from the face. Morbid...but I guess the Rhino thread has me in a weird mood.
Ken, by any chance is one of them Marley and Marley, averice and greed, who took advantage of the poor, just ignored the needy. If not it should be man.
Maybe I should change that to THREE cool things...
I'm work in my sculpture class on some prototype action figures. I going to try to anyway. Lastly what material is used for the initial sculpts of these dudes.
All sculptors use whatever works for them. But the primary material in the industry today is castilene, the most versatile sculpting material on the planet.
Hmm, too bad. Okay, so they're still angled; does he still look "droopy and sad"? Has he changed at all since the original prototype? I remember you saying that the frames for his glasses would be clear rather than white, which might help the look, but I just can't shake the idea that the final won't look right, which would really be a shame. How does he look right now, in your opinion?
I think he looks good. Ultimately your opinion will be the one that counts.
Did that cover everything? Hope so...
