Arms Length adds puppets & vid question

I didn't see it posted so, thought I'd mention that Arms Length has recently added puppets for sale. No price is listed. armslength.com

I was also curious if anyone has purchased the video on creating puppets from Arms Length. It looks promising and just wanted to get some feedback.

:concern:

you can post the link without adding any "dots." I can fix it then.

Arms length puppets

I was recently at the International Festival for Christian Puppetry and Ventriloquism (I-Fest) put on by One Way Street, and there were some puppets from Arms Length for sale there, in the Puppet Productions booth. Sorry, but I don't remember prices. They did cause a little bit of a stir, since there haven't been any Pannabecker puppets available for awhile.

Out of curiosity PJ, is it David's style of hand grip that you use in your puppets?

I'd be interested to know as well. I bookmarked PJs Puppets early on - great work. It looks like the rods go seamlessly into the wrist. I'm curious the actual method of making that happen. I've seen articles that basically just say 'cut the hand open - slide the rod inside and sew the hole around it'. Seems there should be something more specific than that. I started using the 'puppet 101 blog' method in creating the rod - just not sure how I'm going to insert it in the hand.

I have the videos as part of the puppet kit and am currently building it, the video are step by step for building the kit rather than giving you free form to create your own, though I'm sure after building you would apply the techniques show to your own work. Without the vid the kit would be no where near as easy to follow as the b/w photocopied booklets that come with the kit are obviously not as easy to follow as something as visual as whats on screen.

I actually took one of his classes. it was great i learned so much. the arm rod you talked about in the rist of the puppet is a small metal tube surrounded by a foam pece that is inserted in the arm of the puppet then stuffed. the rod is pushed into the metal tube & locks. the video explains everything, i got both video and kit. I'm glad I took his class, or the video might have been a little hard to follow. Daivd is also a great guy and very patience & through. if you can take his class, it is expense but well worth it.
