They are worth getting if, like me, you didn't own any of these already. (well, MTI not included)

Can someone tell me how MTI looks in widescreen. Is it nice? I've already got it on tape, and a fullscreen DVD, so I'm waiting a while to pick this one up. The other's I've already got (finally!! I seriously don't care about special features, I just want the movies).

That's very true. If it's from the library I could see them for free.
I see my library just got the NEW Disney MCC dvd and old MTI dvd along with the NEW HIT! Emmet dvd.

To be honest with you, no....it's not worth it. The special features really aren't that "special" at all.

I am really disappointed with how Disney has proceeded with Kermit's 50th Anniversary celebration. Heck, they still haven't even updated Kermit's World Tour section on muppets.com.

I just really don't know, I love the Muppets, and I love the new amount of exposure they are getting, but I just really don't know!

I will definitely be buying Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island for widescreen. The other two I don't know about. While I do wanna see Pepe's Profiles, we're buying TMM and GMC for my grandpa so I can just watch his.

Not worthy of 50 years

These new releases are more like bare-bones releases of Henson's films. There is really nothing to speak of, as far as quality. Not a single special feature. and the whole peppe or whatever that guy is, giving us a quick 10 minute homage was cheaply done, and barely worth the time to watch it. It was just a stuffer to have "something" besides the movie.

I know a lot of people will disagree, but nevertheless, where was Frank Oz? why could they not have gotten him on to do a commentary track, or any other cast member?? Where were these guys for the 50th anniversary edition? geeze, does anyone even care anymore??? It's one of the things I was upset about with The Dark Crystal release, they've treated it great, but I really would have loved to have seen someone give a commentary, to give us some insight, since we no longer have Jim.

In my opinion, they blew it. Nice packing I guess, good animated menus, an ok transfer of an already aging film. But certainly. . .certainly not worth of this so called "50th anniversary edition". Disney does some things well, but apparently honoring a legacy is something they're not very good at it.

The radio, it plays christmas song 24/7 til Dec 26th. Anyways The guy was taking about somthin about Giveaways and I heard him say "Next we're playing Jonh Denver and the Muppets 12 days of christmas" and then he sayed somthin else and then sayed "We are also giving away the newly released 4 Muppet Movies on Disney dvd, curtisie of Buena Vista Home Entertainment. call 818-3" somthing, somthin he sayd. You have to be caller # 10. Its good the Muppets are getting exposure like this! I would have called but I already bought all four of mine!

I bought them because I didn't get the older version of the DVD back then. I do have the vhs version of the old case not the newer cartoony look. I'm getting all the old stuff on all the old vhs as much as I can.

I already bought the Treasure Island new edition and will probably get the others as well. The ONLY reason that I got them is for the sake of having them in my collection. The older versions are way better with more extras. If you like extras and bonus material I would recommend searching for one of the discontined copies. They are much better than the so called new and improved 50th anniversary edition. Like I said, I will by them just to have them in the collection. But i'm very disappointed with Disney's effort here. And I have been one of the few who have tried to give Disney the benefit of the doubt. Very disappointing!
