Well, until recently I thought apple butter was on the same idea as peanut butter, but it really isn't, it's more like a fruit preserve(a jelly or a jam), does not have the same nutritional value as peanut butter, and since I've discovered sunflower seed butter and pumpkin seed butter, I think those should appear on more shelves where peanut butter is. It would give a wider selection of choices other than peanut butter. This way, people with little kids could choose the type of spread to give their child(see my thread on nut butters), because some may be less common an allergen than others.
There's the answer to my fascination.
