I've watched it a few times, but to be honest I don't care for it. Not because it's not a good concept or a good show in principle, but being a daycare worker and at one time, a Nanny, I've EXPERIENCED stuff like that first hand. And I'm not a perfect parent either. But sometimes what those 'parents' do just makes my blood boil.
I'm not sure whether to laugh at the post or feel sorry for you about the post....hold on, let me flip a coin...

I don't like the whole idea of such a show nor any other reality or tabloid shows. No matter how much it may seem that the nannies are helping these families, there is inevitably something exploitive about it. Parents and children are being put on display as a type of freak show and serious issues such as parenting and family stability are being turned into sensationalism. Sure, the parents agree to do it, but the children have no choice. Maybe it's because I'm a social worker who has worked with families, but I take it seriously and turning problems into public entertainment seems unthinkable. It's not just Nanny 9-1-1; it's every reality and tabloid talk show out there. I keep going back to a line from the movie, the Indian In The Cupboard, "They're people! You can't use people!" JMO

Nanny 911 vs Supernanny

In my house we watch both shows Nanny 911 and Supernanny with Jo Frost. Did you ever notice how Jo and Nanny Deb look very much alike? These shows make me count my blessings I have for having a reasonably well-behaved 3 year old. My only mnajor problem is that she refuses to get on board the potty train. WE HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING!!! HELP
