I actually went to Degrassi Junior High from the second Degrassi series! It's actually the Centre For Creative Communication in Toronto (the campus was abandon when they shot Degrassi there). There's a publicity shot of the cast from the series and the locker that's open is the one that I used when I was there, which was my little claim to fame in college.

The abandon basement of the school is really cool (I snuck down there once with some people). There's a web site with an article about a bunch of "urban explorers" who went down there here.
Urban Exploration is an awesome sport, and that site is one of the best resources. One thing reviewed on there is the best hotels to sneak into to use the pools. Lol. I went Draining with some guys once, and we found a bong and some awesome graffiti peices covering whole tunnels.

Coolness on a cracker!

I just changed my avvy to a pic of Spike.
My other fave characters are Stephanie, because even though she's a bit of a lamb dressed as mutton she's very genuine and has a good nature. And Joey, because he's very hopeful and a dreamer, and never gives up on things. ^^
I also like it on Degrassi how not everyone's grouped, while on most teen-oriented shows the kids don't socialise with anyone but their own "kind" (I know that at my school even though people are unfortunately grouped and labled we do talk to eachother sometimes).
It's also good that the show isn't sugar-coated, like most shows for teens, it tells it like it is. It can be cheesy, the acting, but at times it can be so realistic it brings tears to my eyes.

I HAVE CABLE AGAIN!
... Oh Degrassi, how I've missed thee as the morning dew longs for the flutter of a crisp midnight breeze ...
