As far back as I can remember I always been a Fan of Arthur Rankins and Jules Bass, and I was wondering if anyone remebers them. They did a lot of stop motion animation Christmas specials druing the 60's and the 70's.

Rankin & Bass are a staple of 1970's television. They not only created so many of those puppet-animated holiday shows, but several straight-up traditional animated pieces as well including The Hobbit, Return Of The King, The Last Unicorn, and The Year Without a Santa Claus.

Grew up on that stuff.

Most people hate the Hobbit version they did, but that's mostly because of the music they had in it. I happen to like it, but I'm just a little left-of-center in my tastes.

I absoutely love "Mad Monster Party"

Had the VHS for over 15 years and its still going. Recently purchased the soundtrack - brilliant stuff away from the sound effects and other voices.

Can't say I've seen anything else of theirs... been tempted to get the book about it all. And maybe purchase some of their other stuff... assuming it reached DVD of course.
