Anybody remember this song?

I was bathing my dog this morning and started singing this song from an old live-action film. I'm sure most of you remember this.
It was a film that showed shots of kids swimming interspersed with shots of dogs swimming, sometimes with an underwater camera. I think it was a Raposo song, the words were something like:

"If I could only paddle like a doggie oughta paddle
I would paddle my way to you...

(Large chunk I don't remember), the ending was like this:

If I could only paddle like a doggie oughta paddle
I would paddle the ocean blue
If I could only face a doggie's steady paddle pace
I would paddle my way to
Gotta get through to
Paddle my way to you..."

Watching this as a kid I always thought (naively) it would be fun to swim with a dog. I now know differently! Does anybody remember the rest of the words?
For some reason this one is paired in my head with the film of the lizard climbing up a tree with the "It's a long hard climb" song playing.
