On a side note: I had to "dig into" one of my older puppets made from the original antron fleece the other day... having worked with the new stuff pretty extensively in the recent past, I gotta say the old stuff was VASTLY superior to the new. But I'm still committed to the product. Even the new stuff does what I need it to do. And that is good.

When you say "older" puppets, just curious, how old exactly are you referring? And yes, I wouldn't doubt the quality was a bit better. I do simulated stained glass windows on the side, I was out of it for a few years, and I can definitely tell the difference in the materials now from then.......

I started building puppets with the old Muppet fleece about two years before it was dropped.
Dwayne is about, what, 5+ years old? I'm not exactly certain. I started building the puppet that would become Dwayne for a completely different project and stopped before he was even 1/3 finished. When I needed a human puppet for another short film, I finsihed him up. then I realized I needed a Dwayne Frankenstein puppet for TVTV and so I modified him to that purpose. Now I'm getting in there and doing some repair work and shoring up of the puppet and giving him a face-lift.
oh.. and the decision has been made. I will be buying myself an entire bolt of the new fleece just to have it and not run out so quickly. Woot.

One of the guys that worked on Crank Yankers told me that you can usually get 1 puppet out of a yard and a half. Why not buy two bolts and sell off the second one piecemeal? I'll buy 15 yards of it.
