I love KISS! I mean, you have to admire people who are not at all self-conscious. They just go out there with their faces painted and just have a good time! Actually, I just found out (literally, five minutes ago) that Peter Criss quit being their drummer at some point; anyone know why? IMHO, Criss is, like, the best drummer from any band. Anyway, my two favorite KISS songs are "Beth" and "I Was Made For Loving You"; how about y'all?

I'll bet you are!

Yeah, I don't mind Kiss. I actually like "I Was Made For Loving You," too. You know, I heard something on the radio this morning about them having comic books coming out, and a big book will cost like $50 or something like that. I was just waking up so I didn't completely get everything the DJ was talking about, haha! But I'm sorry, Brian, I'm not sure why Peter Criss quit.

"You wanted the best, you got the best, the hottest band in the world...KISS!!!"

Yeah, KISS is my second favorite band (after the Beatles). I agree with Princeton, they had the guts to do something different in their presentation, and their songs are rockin and fun. And no one did merchandising like they did, they actually had comic books years ago, along with action figures etc. They had their own blood put into the ink in their original issue.

Why Peter Criss left seems to be up for debate. He said he just wanted to strike out on his on, have a solo career. He wasn't as into the merchandising as Gene and Paul. However, it's been said occasionally that Gene and Paul actually asked him to leave because of personal problems. It's basically a "he said, he said" thing. Well, in any case, he's a great drummer and I love hearing him sing "Black Diamond."

My favorite member is Ace and my songs are "Shout it Out Loud", "Strutter", "I was Made for Loving You, Baby" and "Beth."

That's really interesting, heralde. I do love originality. And they certainly are original... definitely an interesting band! I think I'm kinda neutral on them all in all. I honestly think "Beth" is such a soft song for them. Just seems out of character for them... from what I know about them, haha! I do really like Ace, though. He seems very cool!

Too bad about Peter Criss. But very interesting info, thanks for that too, heralde. I hate seeing those "he said, he said" situations in bands. But, either way, from what I do know, he is a pretty great drummer.

From what I heard, they released a single with (I think) "Detroit Rock City" on the A side and "Beth" on the B side. "DRC" wasn't getting much attention so DJs started playing Beth instead, and it was a surprise instant hit.

Oh wow, that's awesome. Thanks for that info! I think it's so awesome when things work out like that! I guess it sure was a surprise hit!

KISS rules!!

Not only am I a lifelong KISS fan, but I have been Gene Simmons for Halloween for the last 30 years. I first saw them on Dick Clark's "In Concert" in 1975 and have been an addict since. I love every song they have ever put out...but my all-time faves are "I Love IT Loud", "Rock N' Roll All Nite", "Hard Luck Woman", "Shock Me" just to name a few.
I even portrayed Gene in a KISS Tribute band here in New England for 7 years. The band was called "Creatures Of The Night", after our favorite KISS album. We even had a drummer dressed like Eric Carr (The Fox).
So yes, I'm a card carrying member of the KISS Army...glad to see there are others out there as well.
