Hey you guys and gals of the muppet world,

I was just wondering if there is a more economic and more readily available alternative to antron fleece? If there is, does anyone know where I can get some? Thanks for your help. :excited:

Antron alternatives

It depends on what kind of skin you want your puppet to have. You could paint the raw foam, use fur, or even felt. Each one gives a different feel and look to the character. However, you asked about fleece. From what I understand about it, Antron is no longer being produced. The company that makes it is working on an alternative, but it's not ready for distribution yet. Somewhere on these threads, I read that Polar Fleece or any "long-fibered" fleece will work to hide seams.

Hope this helps,

Jason

You can, with practice and a lot of care, create nearly invisible seams on almost any kind of fleece. But it's hard. From what I understand samples of the new puppet fleece by Hampshire Textiles will be available in a few weeks.
