SPECIAL GUEST STAR: LEE GREENWOOD

OPENING THEME

OPENING NUMBER: Pa and Junior Gorg make a cameo appearance, singing "Dum of a Son of a Gun".

STATLER: Y'know, my son's not too bright either.

WALDORF: How do you figure?

STATLER: He's the one that got me season tickets to this show!

BOTH: DOHHHHH, HO HO HO...

BACKSTAGE: Sam is in raptures that Lee Greenwood will be singing "God Bless the USA" on the show, and tells Kermit so. Lee then shows up and tells them he won't be singing it...prompting Sam to faint. Lee then says that Sam didn't let him finish...he wouldn't be singing it RIGHT AWAY, then asks Kermit what Sam's deal is.

GUEST STAR: Lee Greenwood sings "This Land Is Your Land" with the jugband.

VETERINARIAN'S HOSPITAL: Dr. Bob, Nurse Piggy, and Nurse Janice operate on Boober Fraggle at his most nerve-racked.

SKIT: "At The Dance"

UK SPOT: Floyd leads a group of Muppets in singing "Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite!".

GUEST STAR: Lee Greenwood sings "God Bless the USA" with all the Muppets.

SKIT: In keeping with the "American/family values" theme of tonight's show, Gonzo the Great will play "The Stars & Stripes Forever" on egg beaters. He'll be doing great until he gets his nose caught in one of the beaters.

STATLER: Do you think Gonzo will ever make it big?

WALDORF: Not by a nose!

BOTH: DOHHH, HO HO HO...

CLOSING NUMBER: Sam meets Lee Greenwood onstage, and says how wonderful Lee's songs have been, but he knows that Lee will do something totally un-American for his big finish. Lee tells Sam he guessed wrong, you can't get more American than ROCK & ROLL, then plays "Heartbreak Radio" with the Electric Mayhem.

CLOSING THEME

STATLER: Well, the show wasn't that bad tonight.

WALDORF: What are you talking about? It was lousy!

STATLER: For you, maybe! I slept through most of it!

Here's what the Vet's Hospital skit would sound like:

ANNOUNCER: It's time once again for "Veterinarian's Hospital", the continuing story of a quack who's gone to the dogs...

JANICE: Here's the next patient, Dr. Bob!

(Rowlf pulls back the sheet to reveal a quivering Boober Fraggle)

ROWLF: I immediately diagnose no more Elvis Presley records for this patient!

PIGGY: Why, Dr. Bob?

ROWLF: Look at him, he's all shook up!

BOOBER: Do you mind? (produces a long sheet of paper) This is the list of all the diseases I have.

ROWLF: Well, I'll be! Someone who's sicker than the writers of this sketch!

BOOBER: COME ON! I'M REALLY SICK HERE! What kind of a doctor are you, anyway?

ROWLF: What kind do you want me to be?

PIGGY: I've wanted him to be a GOOD doctor for years, but nooooo...

ROWLF: According to your charts, you're in perfect physical condition. However, your mental health is what I'm worried about.

JANICE: Why, Dr. Bob?

ROWLF: He agreed to do this sketch with us!

ANNOUNCER: And so Dr. Bob has come to grips with the fact that he's one sick puppy. Tune in next time when you'll hear Nurse Piggy say...

PIGGY: The writers of this sketch must eat a lot of pretzels.

ROWLF: Why do you say that?

PIGGY: Well, you are what you eat, and anyone who writes this sketch is pretty TWISTED!
