Well, since I started this thread, I guess I should give a little summary of what I am hoping for this summer, but don't know if it will ALL come true...("I'm wishing...[I'm wishing]...for something to doooooo...")

First, we need to get the kids out of school with no real scars. This means making sure the elementary school finally gives us a parent/teacher conference BEFORE the end of the nine weeks (we've waited a week already for that darned thing; hubby went to complain to the office this morning!), because I can't understand why a child would have straight As in all his classes, yet get an F in spelling when that is the ONE class we are working on here at home (long story). So, if we can get the youngest out of this school with no real pain, great! With the older one, who went through some medical problems during the school year and missed three weeks a month ago due to a medical procedure, we have decided to let him get a GED rather than do what the school system has asked, which is return to school for almost two more years (he's a senior, for cripes sake!) so that he can finish his classes (in order that they are given) and get his diploma. He went to the Adult Learning Center to take a preliminary test for the GED and passed with such high grades that the woman giving the test was quite shocked. Guess it was the beard and "Kevin Smith look-alike" features that he has that threw her...So, he'll take his test on June 7, the other one will be out on June 8, then the older one will take his ACT test for college on June 14. Hopefully he passes that, too, as he is going to MSU this fall in North Dakota.

In late June, we are supposed to take a trip to Lancaster, PA and we were hoping to stop in Gettysburgfor a day or two. Actually, for about three days, but now we have found out that the other person in my hubby's section at work has timed HIS vacation (three weeks) around the same time that we have planned to go for a year. Since we can't change our date and hs'd already make monetary reservations, we are stuck. Personally, I think this guy did this on purpose...we haven't had a real vacation since we moved up here, and yet he has gone to the Bahamas, on a cruise, to the ocean and other things, including WDW and Disneyland for his kids. Hey...when's it OUR turn?

Other than that, we will be here...hopefully we will be able to get rid of all the old clothes and such we have around here and the kids and I can start packing in hte hopes of my oldest getting in at MSU this fall. If he does, then the boys and I are moving to North Dakota. Yay...closer to home and the grandparents!

We are hoping to get in a movie this summer, we are looking forward to the new "Harry Potter " book, and if my son can't get into MSU, then we will be looking for a way to home school the youngest and find art classes for the oldest until he can get to MSU.

That's about the end of it...oh, we'll be getting the Old English a hair cut so he won't die of heat this summer...it gets really humid here!

You said it!, college isn't that bad, but I still don't know many people yet, I do look forward to the first night class i'll be taking in the fall, it's an acting theater workshop. You really meet people in those classes and i recomend people to take at least one if you can! they are a lot of fun! I took two my first smester with the same professior, she also teaches this nightclass one so i'll know her really well now!! I did a few Muppet puppet show presentations in her classes before! they were great!

This is exactly how I start every summer. Watching Tiny Toon's How I Spent My Summer Vacation.

Would you like some slightly moist reading material?

I think Plucky and Hampton are my favorites in that.

The stairway to Heaven!
The bullet train to heck!

Ha ha! You can't go! Ha ha! You can't go! Mwa!
