AM Questions

Hi, all.

I have heard about a song called "Beep". It was sung by two AMs (Jerry Nelson and Northern Calloway), and it was a counting song. I've heard this was on "The Count Counts" record, but I don't know whether it was on television or not.

If it was on television, can any of you guys please describe what these two characters looked like if possible?

Also, does anyone know about the AMs from the "Yellow Submarine" sketch from 1969? If you can, please describe what they looked like, too.

I found this in Sesame Street Archives site(hope it's the skit you're talking about):

Transcriber's Note: With each "Beep", you see a yellow circle at the top of the screen, up to four. When #1 starts the long string of "Beeps", the first time he just jumps around, but the second time, when both sing, the screen fills up with circles--big, small, yellow, red, etc. It really gets silly!

Muppet #1 (sung): If it says one, then I go beep.
If it says two, then I go beep beep.
If it says three, then I go beep beep beep.
And that's the way it's done.

Muppet #2 (spoken): Yeah, but what if it says four?

Muppet #1 (sung): I go beep beep beep beep, nothing more.

Muppet #2 (spoken): But what if it says more than four?

Muppet #1 (sung really fast): Then I go Beepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeep-
(into incomprehension, and screen fills up with circles)

Muppet #2 (spoken): Like what if it says forty-six?

Muppet #1 (sung really fast again): Then I go Beepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeep-
(into more incomprehension, and the screen fills up with forty-six circles)
(sung at normal speed)
Now, I used to get confused about my numbers,
Whether it was three or one or four or two.
But now I find my numbers very easy,
'Cause this is what I do ...
If it says one, then I go beep.
If it says two, then I go beep beep.
If it says three, then I go beep beep beep.
And that's the way it's done.

(into still more incomprehension, and screen fills up with still more circles. I think this is one of those places where they're different sizes and colors. I'm not sure what lines come next, if any. Then, at the end

I haven't seen this segment since around 1982, so my memory is a bit foggy...

the Muppet that doesn't know how to count is a fat blue with brown hair and a horizontally striped shirt (red & white?) and possibly a jacket.

The Northern Calloway muppet was either pink or purple and was wearing a puffy looking, funky 70's hat (similar to a train engineers hat) and had dark hair.

Also, from what I remember, the audio to the clip wasn't exactly the same as the audio from the record.
