Because most of our tax dollars went to fund the war, even tax dollars we didn't have. We had to borrow from China to pay for it. I once heard that Bush was the only president that didn't raise taxes during time of war. Now, I would agree on tax cuts IF they were done properly. Let's say nothing happened at all the past 8 years, and we had the tax cuts. I wouldn't have seen anything wrong with that. But fighting 2 wars? What? Did they expect the weapon manufacturers to donate flame throwers and nuclear bombs to both sides?
So, with most of money we didn't even have going to war, that meant less money for schools, libraries, fire houses... remember when Fire Fighters were called our country's greatest heroes? Months later, fire house had to be shut down due to budgets... and that was when the economy was relatively good.
So, we wound up with a devalued dollar, no tax revenues, and our souls sold to China. EVERY state is hurting. They aren't cutting fat, they're cutting muscle. Crime is on the rise, and we have less of a police force out there. It's a freaking mess, and these people are worried that they're taxes will go up? Unless China agrees to forgive our debt and the Iraqi government pays for the expense of the war, there ain't no other way. And I ain't talking wacky taxes like Garbage taxes and sin taxes... I mean tax the heck out of the wealthy. Especially the oil companies. Time their free ride was over.
I hate talking in internet memes, but EPIC FAIL! They hate the fact that they're budgets are being hacked to the bone, letting blood seep out, yet they don't want their taxes raised? Epic eye roll! Remember back in 2003 or so, when we did that whole Iraq thing we still have to deal with to this day? Sure, they wanted to go to war, they made everyone want this war... but they said, NO!
