I've been thinking lately about an idea for a CD that the Jim Henson Legacy could produce as a tribute for Jim Henson. Most of us know that in 1991, Sesame Street released a music CD for Jim celebrating the songs of his characters from that show. However, I think it will be a cool idea if the legacy, mainly under Craig Shemin and Karen Falk's guidance, could produce an album featuring songs from his character's not just from Sesame Street, but also from the Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock, and the movies. Here is what I am thinking about a track listing:

1. "Bein' Green" - Kermit the Frog
2. "Rubber Duckie" - Ernie
3. "Mahna-Mahna" - Mahna-Mahna
4. "Cottleston Pie" - Rowlf the Dog
5. "Tenderly" - Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem
6. "Lydia the Tattooed Lady" - Kermit the Frog
7. "I Hope that Something Better Comes Along" - Kermit the Frog and Rowlf the Dog
8. "Let Me Be Your Song" - Cantus and the Minstrels
9. "I Like You" - Ernie and Bert
10. "To Morrow" - The Country Trio
11. "It Was a Very Good Year" - Waldorf and Statler
12. "I'll Love You In Springtime" - Guy Smiley
13. "Steppin' Out With a Star- Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear and Gonzo
14. "*** Willow" - Rowlf the Dog and Sam the Eagle
15. "Can You Picture That?" - Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem
16. "The Honker Duckie Dinger Jamboree" - Ernie, the Honkers and Dingers
17. "Convincing John" - Convincing John
18. "I Never Harmed an Onion" - Rowlf the Dog
19. "The First Time it Happens" - Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy
20. "D-U-C-K-I-E" - Ernie
21. "You Can't Take No for an Answer" - Dr. Teeth
22. "The Garden Song" - Kermit the Frog
23. "You Don't Want My Love" - The Country Trio
24. "Movin' Right Along" - Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear
24. "Music Makes Us Real" - Cantus and the Minstrels
25. "When" - Rowlf the Dog
26. "Disco Frog" - Kermit the Frog
27. "Atom Bomb" - Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem
28. "Eight Little Notes" - Rowlf the Dog
29. "I Don't Want to Live on the Moon" - Ernie
30. "The Rainbow Connection" - Kermit the Frog

Again, this is only an idea. It's not actually happening, but it would be nice if it did. It could also be released as a limited edition double-LP set too. The CD could also include a book in it with notes by Craig and Karen with a biography on Jim and liner notes on all the songs listed in the album. This is the kind of stuff that fans like us would love to see.

I absolutely love this idea. Not only this, but also if there were any other of Jim's audible creations that haven't seen the light of day could be released (which there's a very big chance there are).
